REDD+ processes are well-advanced in Latin America. The EU REDD Facility is closely following these developments and synergies with ongoing FLEGT VPA processes.

In Colombia, we are supporting the development of financial solutions for community forestry, identifying local intercultural governance mechanisms in the Amazonian region in support of sustainable land use maintaining forest cover. In both Colombia and Ecuador, we are also and helping to develop traceability systems to monitor and trace sustainable zero-deforestation cocoa.
